Thomas Steffens, Chief Executive Officer of Primephonic, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Dalton as Head of North America, Henrique Boregio as Chief Technology Officer, and Maarten Hoekstra as Chief Marketing Officer. Dalton is based out of Primephonic’s New York office; Boregio and Hoekstra are based out of Primephonic headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Steffens said, “It is an exciting time of growth for Primephonic, having launched in the U.S., the UK and most recently The Netherlands. Our global executive team will lead the charge as we continue to embrace and transform the classical music streaming experience. John Dalton, Henrique Boregio and Maarten Hoekstra bring to Primephonic a deep understanding of our customer needs and combined expertise that will be essential as we continue to build momentum.”
Boregio has a over a decade of engineering and leadership experience. Prior to joining Primephonic, Boregio served as Tech Lead and was part of the founding team of Picnic, an online supermarket and one of the fastest growing Dutch startups. As Chief Technology Officer of Primephonic, Boregio will drive the platform’s technology strategy and product roadmap, and grow the product development team.

I'm excited to join the fast-growing Primephonic team to help achieve our goal of revolutionizing the classical music streaming experience.”
Prior to joining Primephonic, Dalton was a Principal at The Toccata Group, an entertainment consultancy, where he served as a business development, marketing and licensing consultant to clients including EMI Music North America, Shutterstock, Product (RED). He was also previously Vice President of Market Development for Warner Music Group where he was responsible for expanding distribution channels for all of WMG’s owned and independently distributed labels; Vice President of Marketing for Universal Classics USA (responsible for all marketing initiatives for the classical imprints Deutsche Grammophon, Decca Classics, Philips) and held executive level positions at Blue Note Records, Angel/EMI Classics and PolyGram. Dalton holds a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music.

Before joining Primephonic, Hoekstra was Chief Marketing Officer of Zelfstroom, a fast-growing sustainable energy supplier in the Netherlands, and led the marketing team of Independer.nl, the largest comparison website for insurances in the Netherlands. Hoekstra also oversaw brand development at Procter & Gamble, Pampers, Oral-B, and for a number of fragrances including Gucci, Hugo Boss and Dolce & Gabbana.
